With HDF vinyl floors, high-density fibreboards are coated with PVC. Here, the individual elements are joined together seamlessly with a click mechanism and the floor is laid floating. HDF luxury vinyl plank in humble tx floors are ideally suited to compensate for slight unevenness in the floor, which is why they can also be laid on existing floors, such as tiles or wooden planks. However, they are not suitable for the bathroom or kitchen, as the HDF panels could swell due to moisture.

Off the roll: the traditional PVC floor

Of course, the classic vinyl flooring is also available in stores on the roll. Here, a little more manual skill is required when laying, since the PVC is laid out in strips and glued to the substrate. For this, the vinyl floor is part of the role to cheaper soil types and is especially good for wet rooms like the bathroom suitable. Here, the joints can also be sealed using the cold welding process, which protects the substrate from moisture.

Glueing vinyl – the three variants

If you do not want to lay your vinyl floor floating, you have three options for glueing to choose from:

  • Wet bed bonding
  • Self-adhesive vinyl
  • Vinyl planks with double-sided tape

Professionals prefer to lay vinyl floors using what is known as wet bed bonding. This creates a very solid and durable connection with the sub-floor with a very small construction height. Disadvantage: The floors are very difficult to remove again.

Laying self-adhesive vinyl, on the other hand, is much easier and saves time – it hardly requires any manual skills. And the exchange of damaged areas is no problem because the glue with a hairdryer can easily be released.

If you decide on the variant with double-sided adhesive tape, you should remember that a special coating must be applied to the floor beforehand. To do this, the planks can later be removed without leaving any residue.
